CINI celebrates International Women’s Day with Kavach Mothers
1 min readKolkata: Child in Need Institute (CINI) commemorated the International Women’s Day 2024 by celebrating the remarkable achievements of women at its head office in Kolkata.
The highlight of the event was the participation of 15 extraordinary women from the Sundarbans. These women, now known as “Kavach Mothers,” shared their inspiring journeys of transformation from remote villages to becoming heroes in their communities.
The Kavach Mothers are volunteers in a groundbreaking initiative by ICMR, CINI, and TGI aimed at preventing child drowning. Through their dedication and hard work, they are saving lives and empowering others.
Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee, CEO of CINI, said, “CINI promotes women’s empowerment and inclusion in all social spheres. The Kavach Mothers are shining examples of how women can lead positive change in their communities.”
Sujoy Roy, Sr. Manager at CINI and State head WRA West Bengal, said, “These women are the true embodiment of women’s empowerment. Their stories are a testament to the power of investing in women and the positive impact they can have on their communities.”
