Capgemini’s Prithvi Mela comes to Kolkata

Kolkata: Capgemini under its Business Resource Group (BRG) Sustainability hosted Prithvi Mela in Kolkata, a one of its kind event to create awareness and engage employees with varied topics around sustainability, both internally and externally.

Prithvi Mela, The Earth Fair celebrated sustainability in all forms, and brought together all employees to be part of the movement to make a sustainable planet and empower employees to adopt a more environment-friendly lifestyle.

At Prithvi Mela in Kolkata, Capgemini showcased sustainability initiatives demonstrated by Capgemini India Corporate Real Estate Services (ICRES) and Centre of Excellence (CoEs) for employees, clients, and partners. Stalls were set up around eco-friendly products byemployees and external sustainable organizations.

There were also multiple employee engagement activities aligned with Capgemini’s sustainability agenda, like cycling for energy, a photography zone, social media interaction zone, planting zone, and a pottery corner.

Additionally, there were showcase zones where employees displayed upcycled and recycled products along with external organizations exhibiting sustainable fashion, accessories, and handcrafted products.

Apart from the exhibition and experience center, there were panel discussions on various topics highlighting the concept of sustainability from different perspectives.

Preeminent artist Sanatan Dinda, who also designed the look and feel at Prithvi Mela and young banker turned artist and designer Sharmistha Roy Chowdhury also took part in the panel discussion.

One of the key attractions of the mela was the multiform interactive performance by Paramita & troupe showcasing the need to live light and in harmony with all the elements of nature.

The session also featured success stories from employees, leaders sharing their success stories, young professionals talking of a sustainable ecosystem that they inspire and are inspired by.

Prithvi Mela Kolkata was the third edition in the series of eco fairs organized by Capgemini in India, after the eventful Prithvi Mela in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Always synonymous with sustainability, Capgemini plans to take Prithvi Mela to other cities across the country with additional new unique elements.
