A Two-Day Creative Celebration at Srimati Techno Institute Blending Technology, Design and Fashion
Kolkata, September 2026: Bringing together technological innovation, interior design and the creative world of fashion, Srimati Techno Institute hosted its two-day creative showcase, THINKING 2K26 and PRISMATIC 2K26, placing young student talent at the centre of the stage.
The event showcased students’ hands-on projects, innovative ideas and fashion collections while providing them with an opportunity to interact directly with established professionals from different industries.
The programme was led by Director Mr. B. N. Pati and Principal Ms. Soma Sarkar, while the concept and creative planning were undertaken by renowned Concept Artist and Event Curator Soumen Ghosh.
Mr. B. N. Pati, Director, Srimati Techno Institute, said:
“Our objective is not simply to provide students with certificates, but to create a platform where they can showcase their talent, skills and creativity before the real industry. THINKING and PRISMATIC are important initiatives towards that vision.”
THINKING 2K26 featured technical and interior design projects, innovative concepts and practical applications developed by students. The showcase highlighted the institute’s emphasis on hands-on learning and its effort to bridge the gap between classroom education and professional practice.
The event then moved into PRISMATIC 2K26, where fashion design students presented their collections through professional fashion presentations. From concept development and textile exploration to garment construction, styling and runway presentation, the students demonstrated the complete creative journey behind their designs.
Among the distinguished guests were renowned designer Sayantan Sarkar, actor and Casting Director Arijit Dutta, and Deben Bhagat. Their interaction with and appreciation of the students added a special dimension to the event.
Sayantan Sarkar said:
“The enthusiasm among the young participants and their willingness to experiment and create something new was truly appreciable. Platforms like this can provide valuable exposure for their future professional journey.”
A key attraction of PRISMATIC 2K26 was its distinguished jury panel, comprising Dr. Sohini Sastri, Prof. Subarna Ghosh and renowned designer Santanu Guhathakurta. The jury evaluated the students’ creativity, presentation and overall design approach while sharing professional insights and experience with the participants.
The event also welcomed renowned photographer Atanu Paul and celebrated model and director Rana Mukherjee as special guests. Personalities from the fields of fashion, cinema, photography, design, education and business further enriched the two-day programme.
Actor and Casting Director Arijit Dutta said:
“In today’s industry, academic knowledge alone is not enough to become industry-ready. Communication, presentation, confidence and creativity are equally important. Events like this provide students with valuable real-world exposure.”
Soumen Ghosh, Concept Artist and Event Curator, said:
“Through PRISMATIC, I did not want to present just another fashion show. I wanted to see how a student designer transforms an idea into a complete visual statement. That is why presentation, styling and the overall visual experience were given importance.”
The two-day celebration went beyond being simply an exhibition or fashion show. Direct interaction between students and industry professionals, along with feedback and professional exposure, created an environment where young participants could understand the expectations of the creative and professional world.
As Director B. N. Pati emphasised, “Giving students a real stage for their dreams is one of our key objectives.”
THINKING 2K26 and PRISMATIC 2K26 demonstrated how education, creative direction and industry exposure can come together to give young talent a professional platform—allowing today’s students to explore and present their potential for tomorrow’s creative industries.
